Forum 2017 Round Up

Posted by: Dale Meller | 01 February 2018| Categories:

The Forum launched a report on 'What we have heard so far' in January 2017.  The report was distributed widely and received considerable media coverage across Scotland.  This contributed positively towards:

  • helping the voices of those who spoke to the Forum during its first 18 months to be heard
  • raising the profile of the Forum as a place where care experienced people can add their voice

The purpose of the engagement events in 2017 was to build and develop this work further. Events were held in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen to enable people from a wide geographical spread to take part. A total of 67 people took part, with more than half of attendees care experienced people, some of whom brought supporters. The remainder were professional stakeholders and Forum staff.

A number of common themes emerged from participant discussions at the events including:

  • communicating and influencing
  • obstacles and barriers
  • doing things differently
  • extending the scope of the Forum
